Position Title: Manufacturing Engineering Technician – CNC / Tooling
Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Employment Type: Full Time (salary)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to support our CNC machining operations, with a focus on tooling, process support, and CAM programming. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills who enjoys working directly with CNC machines and production teams while also applying CAD/CAM knowledge to improve processes and solve problems.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in programming CNC machines (Okuma mills and lathes) using CAM software.
  • Support setup, prove-out, and optimization of machining programs.
  • Design and update basic tooling and fixtures to support production needs.
  • Work with 3D CAD models and customer part prints to develop machining solutions.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues (tool wear, work holding, cycle time) alongside operators and engineers.
  • Maintain and update process documentation including setup sheets, tool lists, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel to ensure part accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to machining processes and tooling.

 

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in CNC machining, tooling, or process support.
  • Proficiency in CAM programming (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar) and CAD/3D modeling (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
  • Familiarity with CNC machine setup and operation, preferably Okuma equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on the shop floor with machinists and engineers.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of balancing multiple priorities.
